One particular feature that characterized the 2020 General Elections was that the presidential results was challenged at the Supreme Court. The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) emerged victorious and the emphatic victory at the Supreme Court confirmed the legitimacy of the elected president Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.
After months of court proceedings: counter arguments, cross-examination of witnesses among others, 7 distinguished Judges of the Apex Court of the land on Thursday 4th March, 2021 unanimously dismissed the petition filed by the opposition NDC. This officially made the NPP the legally recognized political party to rule the country for the next four years.
It is important to acknowledge the depth of the intellectuals and the technocrats whose brilliance ensured that the party prove beyond reasonable doubt that indeed President Nana Addo is the president as declared by the EC Chair on the 9th of December, 2020.
The victory team was made up of an assembly of legal luminaries, adept communicators, experienced researchers, technology colossus and electoral affairs experts that reduced the Petitioner’s petition to a “glorified propaganda piece” and helped secured the 2nd Respondent, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with a heartwarming VICTORY in the epic Elections Petition at the Supreme Court.
