Minister of Energy, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh said the current power challenges experienced by the country is due to technical challenges, but not shortages of fuel or power generation.
The Minister Made the revelation during a pressing by the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) at the Ministry of Information on the recent power situation in the country.
According to the Minister, the situation at hand is far from speculations of government owing some entities.
“Ghana has put in place mechanisms where every generator, transmitter, and distributor of electricity is paid something regularly “. He stated
He added that the Ministry is introducing a Gas clearinghouse where funds will be made available to the supplier of fuel for the generators.
Dr. Napo also used the opportunity to assured Ghanaians that the current difficulties are in short term whilst they work hard to ensure a reliable power supply.
