The One District One Factory policy of the NPP government which has been championed by the Hon. Alan Kyerematen has seen a lot of success.
The 1D1F program was designed as a comprehensive industrial transformation agenda to drive the manufacturing industry sector of the Ghanaian economy.
Since 2017, Hon Alan Kyerematen has overseen the establishment of about a hundred new factories and has helped revamp struggling ones.
The scheme has about 106 fully functional factories employing about 156,782 direct and indirect hands.
Some of the factories have been exporting their products abroad, which has helped Ghana achieve a balance of payment surplus in recent times.
One of them, Ekumfi Juice, which gained traction on the local Ghanaian market, has now found its way onto the shelves of one of the largest supermarkets in the world-Walmart.
The retail Goliath in 2022 extended its streak at No. 1 on the Fortune 500 for a 10th consecutive year, bringing in more than $570 billion in revenue.
The fact that Ekumfi Juice is on the shelves of Walmart, means it met its strict quality control standards- a plus Ghanaians have to be proud of.
