Nananum, ladies and Gentileman the story of Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng is a very inspirational one for a lot of Ghanaians who were born and raised from humble beginnings as was Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng whose parents were civil servants. It is an inspiration for people to have hope in life as he preaches hope for Ghana. His personal life represents hope and confidence. That is why Alan is preaching about hope for Ghanaians. If one works hard and focuses on whatever he or she wants in life, there is a good possibility one can achieve those goals.

For some Ghanaians who are not familiar with Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng’s profile or do not know his biography, a great man he has become through had work and relentless striving. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng was born and raised from a humble background. At the age of nine in 1965 he entered the Asokore Mampong secondary school currently Known as Kumasi Academy. During 1965 it is believed that Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng was the youngest Ghanaian who ever entered secondary school according to some of his classmates. Just as importantly that they say up till this day the Alan they know has never changed. He was very humble and quiet but very intelligent, and at top of the class. However Alan left Asokore Mampong Secondary School for his hometown in the Central Region to continue his secondary school education. Alan went on to graduate at the University of Ghana Legon in economics and to further his education he also qualified as barrister- at- law from the Ghana Law School. In addition, Alan was a Hubert Humphrey fellow at the School of Management of University of the Minnesota under the US Fulbright Fellowship Program. This is the man who was born and raised from a humble beginning but his incredible talents and humility have enable him to rise through ranks to become an elite member of our society.

Alan Kyerematen was a senior member of the council of governors of BESO in the United Kingdom and also a Board Member of many organizations in Ghana. Alan was not affluent; he was raised in a poor home, and his father was a civil servant who worked at the Kumasi Cultural Center. Alan worked hard to rise up through the ranks through his great ideas and by dint of hard work and dedication. He understands the life of the underclass and the middle class. Alan is a person who has achieved a lot; he is a credible and academically wise man with an excellent vision to create a better economy for the nation. His achievements are living proof that justifies his ambition to lead the country and to achieve its socioeconomic goals. He is the hard working, humble family oriented man we need to lead the nation. In1998 Alan Kyeremateng was appointed by the United Nations as the first Regional Director of the Enterprise Africa Regional Program, which is an Africa-wide initiative for the development and promotion of small and medium enterprises, set up with the aim of replicating the success of the Empretec Ghana foundation. Enterprise Africa has become the United Nations flagship programme for entrepreneurship development in Africa. Under the umbrella, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng successfully established enterprise support programmes in 13 Sub-Saharan Africa countries: Botswana, Benin, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Uganda. Over 4,000 African entrepreneurs and small businesses have benefited from these programmes. As a result of this I urge NPP delegates across the country to choose a highly qualified, accomplished and energetic candidate such as Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng to lead the NPP and the nation. Alan is like the United States former President Bill Clinton and the current President Barrack Obama. They all have a similar background and this is imperative for the NPP delegates to consider choosing Alan for his vision for the nation. Currently, the nature of the challenges our nation is facing are not only bilateral and multilateral, but they are transnational. NPP delegates should realize that choosing the right leader is about the future of the country, about our society, about moving forward our national economy to become self- sufficient from the donor countries. Let as join together and nominate Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng as the NPP presidential nominee for the 2012 general elections. A man who rose from a humble beginning to become our great inspirational of hope for Ghanaians to lead the nation from the hands of the international monetary funds (IMF)
