Trades Minister Alan Kyerematen has charged members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to disseminate information about the government’s achievements and the impact of its programmes and policies on the socio-economic lives of the people.

Mr Kyeremanten believes this can be achieved through hard work and ensure fertile ground for the governing party to win the 2024 polls.

“TESCON is one of the incubators where NPP leaders are raised. I can just imagine what the future would be if you are a member. [I also urge you] to go to your various constituencies and polling stations to work for the party. That will tell you exactly what you can be [in the future as a member of this party]”, said Hon. Joseph Amoah, who delivered on behalf of the Minister at the maiden Ashanti Region TESCON Conference on Saturday (December 17).

Donation

The three-day event was heavily attended by top appointees in government, sitting and former MPs, as well as party executives.

Mr Kyerematen’s office was however not invited to the programme which was held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

“Adverts had been running on media houses but it is rather unfortunate Alan Kyerematen was not invited…So I have come to represent him”, Hon Amoah said as he donated an amount of ¢10,000 to organizers of the programme on behalf of the Minister.

Kumasi Mayor Samuel Pyne, the party’s General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong and other known voices also donated to support the maiden conference.

About TESCON

TESCON (Tertiary Students Confederacy) is the student wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Ghana founded on 8 January 2000.

It was inaugurated by the 2nd President of the 4th Republic of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor. Since its formation, TESCON has been one of the most important wings of the NPP’s student and political activism and grassroots mobilisation.
